The Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad or the Indo-French Cultural Centre of Hyderabad was established in 1980 by the Francophile population of the twin cities with an aim to reinforce ties with France.

Since the nineties, with the support of the Government of France, the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad has evolved not only as a premier French training institute but also as the most active cultural exchange centers in the twin-cities. Till date, Alliance Francaise has taught more than 20,000 students and has organized numerous cultural events. Today the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad teaches French at various levels to more than 1,800 students every year and organizes about 50 cultural events annually.

These events comprise music concerts, film screenings, dance recitals, round table conferences that are held all over the twin cities. It also co-organises symposiums and talks with other academic institutions from time to time.

Since 2007, the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad has moreover developed a strong partnership with its German counterpart, the Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad. They co-founded in 2008 the Hyderabad Western Music Forum.
