Wonderland was started as a personal project with only 5 children to educate young learners based on the latest international research as opposed to teaching methods that reinforce colonialism. The founders were the first to admit their children.

Ms Shelley Auld was born and raised in New Zealand. From an early age, she wanted to work with young children and train to be a teacher. Shelley went to Otago University and gained an Early Childhood Education degree, and a Post-grad Diploma in Child Advocacy, and is in the process of completing a Master of Education. Over the years, she held a variety of teaching positions and grew into a leader in the early childhood field. Shelley worked for the Dunedin College of Education delivering professional development programs to schools and lecturing undergraduates. She also worked for the New Zealand government supporting community playgroups and early childhood schools. Shelley held the position of Principal in Hanoi, Vietnam. She had a brief time in China. Shelley is happy and proud to be the Principal of the Wonderland family.
