Chennai Hash House Harriers (CH3) was founded on 17th September 2000 by Sashi "Lord Krishna" Varma, Zac "Zzz" Samuel, Pete "Footloose" Briggs) Lord Krishna, Patrick "Big Boy" Davenport, Markus "G string" Kabish & Clause "Danish Pastry" Lynga.
CH3 has entire Families hashing together on alternate Sundays at 16.00 hrs For the runners it is usually a 8km trail, while the walkers do 5km. The pack is lead by the hare, who lays the trail. "Very often the hare will try and confuse the pack." What the pack is therefore required to do is to find the trail and get back to "finish at the starting point". False trails are laid to mislead the front-runners, forcing them to retrace their paths, thus enabling the others to catch up. It is not a race; it's more a mind game.
Drinking beer is not the only fun to be had. Being christened with nicknames, partying all over the world & in India with Hashers and getting back into shape are all part of the deal.

The hash is not restricted to runners, but includes walkers as well. There are plenty of Harriets (women) and Horrors (children) - "to endorse this very family oriented Hash" Hash runs are as much about fitness as quaffing beer.

Easter Balls with is held either in March or April every year!! This is a big hit among hasher & non-hashers!!? It always theme parties like the Arabian Nights, Pirates of the Caribbean, Toga. Purple Passion, Flower Power, our music will always be Retro by the DJ / Live Band.

Our anniversaries are traditionally celebrated outside Chennai. We've had some unforgettable ones (whole weekends) at Pondicherry and Bangalore (the Pub Crawl) "God Owns Country"- Kerala, Colombo & Kuala Lumpur & Melaka, 2010 Chennai Hash celebrates its 10th Anniversary in two different Indian states along the Arabian Sea coast - Kerala & Goa. Kerala, known as "God's Own Country", will be the venue for one run + overnight stay on houseboats and cruising on the backwaters + party. Then hop on a train to Goa for 2 runs + party there!! This year 2011 we are doing Delhi & Mussoorrie (foothills of Himalayas. We had Hashers from Singapore, Malaysia, UK, Germany, Australia and the local Hashers who had join us to celebrate our anniversary.
