The Indonesian government officially allows trading of digital currencies or cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin on futures exchanges. Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) recognizes 229 cryptocurrencies in the country.
This recognition is stated in the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency Regulation Number 7 concerning Determination of List of Crypto Assets that can be traded on the Physical Crypto Asset Market. The regulation will take effect on December 17, 2020.
