The INDIA-CIS Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established by late Shri Manubhai Shah in 1986. With his vast experience in the field of commerce and his long association with the Soviet Union, he sensed the need for an organization to bring together businessmen from India and the newly independent States of the erstwhile USSR.

The Chamber provides a dynamic institutional link for the promotion of Commercial , Economic & Cultural relations between India and CIS countries. As an active forum for Indian businessmen who would like to have or already have close contacts with the CIS Region, the Chamber constantly strives to identify new areas of mutual cooperation and ensure the smooth flow of trade , investment, Joint ventures and technology.

The main objectives of the Chamber are to promote , develop and extend commerce, trade and industry between India and CIS countries. These objectives are designed to be achieved through arranging buyers / sellers meeting, Conferences, Seminars, Trade Missions, in-bound Delegations, workshops, organizing and participation in trade fair and exhibition, by setting expert committee to solve complicated export problems, searching New Market, New Horizon for manufacturers and exporters and also Visa assistance.

Cultural collaboration between any two countries leads to increased contacts & is also a major contributory factor towards enhancing bilateral relations and considering the fact that cultural awareness facilitates healthy international economic relations, the Chamber strives to promote Cultural Exchange Programme with CIS Countries.

The Chamber strives to provide its members with current information on the CIS region & hence publishes a Newsletter, containing information on trade, economy, culture, tourism and other matters of interest to the business community.

The Chamber is exclusively focused on actively exploring new opportunities for trade and commerce between India and CIS countries, which have now stabilized and have opened up new areas of cooperation for Indian business.
