Join me on a story-telling tour of Old Delhi that deep dives into the history of this city.

How is it different from the rest of the tours!

This Old Delhi Walking Tour will share with you interesting stories about Delhi, her people, and her monuments. When you join this walk, you will feel as if you are reading an open book about the history of Delhi.

The stories are not fictitious but recorded in the various history books.

Which all places will we cover?

1Jama Masjid- This mosque, built by the Mughal Emperor in the middle of the 16th century, is one of the largest mosques in Asia. The architecture and the layout of this monument are striking and so is the faith of the faithful Muslims who assemble here to pray to Allah.Be prepared to be mesmerized.

2. Mirza Ghalib Haveli- Home to a popular Urdu and Persian poet, this mansion gives a peep into the lives and times of the Mughal gentry.Ghalib is considered to be one of the greatest Persian and Urdu poets of India. Unfortunately, he died as a debt-ridden man.

3.The Spice Market- India has long been regarded as a land of spices. Indians used to trade spices for gold and silver with the Romans and the Egyptians. The Spice Market at KhariBaoli has stayed the same since it was first set up in the 16th century! If you want to take a slice of Delhi back home, a visit to the Khari Baoli Spice Market is highly recommended.

4. Chandni Chowk- Much of Old Delhi is also called as Chandni Chowk ( Moonlit Market). This ancient market was founded by the eldest daughter of the Mughal Emperor, Shahjahan. This Princess was called as Jahanara ( Light of the World) and was a very beautiful lady. Medieval Mughal India is very much preserved in Chandni Chowk even today. Duck into the various narrow gullies and markets and lose yourself in an ancient world.

You may also like to visit some of the temples located in Chandni Chowk like The Gouri Shankar Temple, Digambar Jain Temple ( which also houses a bird hospital).

An ancient Sikh Gurudwara at the Fountain Chowk will draw your attention with its hair raising stories about one of the Sikh Gurus.
