Founded in 1999 by JGI, JIRS aims include the holistic development of its students in grades four to twelve towards enriching the quality of life. A co-educational, residential school of more than 750 students , we set the highest standards of academic achievement, intellectual growth, ethical awareness and behaviour, sportsmanship and other good qualities to our students.

The School takes leadership seriously and our concern for character is a point of distinction. Our mission has never been narrow to prepare students for college, but rather to provide an experience which goes far beyond college requirements, addressing important personal aspects of growth and maturity.

JIRS believes in the notion that teachers should take part in student’s lives. JIRS faculty does what the best faculties do: it supports the highest level of academic activity, but it also creates a special form of life for the student. This relationship between students and faculty reaches beyond the classroom and affirms and nurtures the spirit, as it challenges the mind. In this way, the faculty fulfills the founding vision of JIRS. Teachers take up the teaching profession as "their life's work".
