Sair-Ae-Sukhan II - Heritage Poetry Walk
After a successful heritage poetry walk last year, The Rhyme Republic comes with its second edition of Sair-Ae-Sukhan. Last years we witnessed some of the most fascinating stories from the birth of Delhi through the lanes of Mehrauli.
This year we start our a professionally guided heritage photo walk from the grandiose of the Qutub Minar, a beacon of heritage in the skyline of Delhi. It ends in the sprawling gardens of Mehrauli where 10 amazing poets from Delhi recite some of the most beautiful verses overlooking the Qutub Minar.
Built-in memory of slave king, the Qutub Minar complex holds secrets of the first sultan of Delhi and has seen kings rise and fall. The Rhyme Republic takes you through the lanes of complex that witness Indraprasth turns into Delhi.
The professionally guided walk begins from the birthplace of Delhi, where the never-rusting Iron Pillar still speaks in the language of the Mauryans. Come as we take you through the realm of the djinns of Jamali Kamali, the immaculate Indo-Islamic architecture, and domes that echo with the art of a hundred cultures.
The walk includes a guided photo walk of the following places:
Qutub Minar
Quwwatul Islam Mosque
Iron Pillar
Alai Darwaza
Alauddin Khilji Tomb
Tomb of Iltutmish
Char Mukha Darwaza
Tomb of Mohammad Quli Khan
Jamali Kamali Mosque
For the poetry event at the end, we have 6 open spots for which we are now accepting submissions. The submission link is given below. Please ensure that you send us the entire poem and not just the name. The theme of the poetry event is "Poetry on Climate Change", though we will consider poems on other topics as well.
