Madhubani art is practiced in the Mithila region of India. It originated from Madhubani District of Mithila region of Bihar, and, it is popularly called Mithila painting or Madhubani art. Madhubani is also a major export center of these paintings.
This painting as a form of wall art was practiced widely throughout the region It is a unique art form where a painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns.

About Sanskriti Museums-
Sanskriti Kendra established in 1993, houses three specialized museums namely Museum of Indian Terracotta, Museum of Everyday Art and Museum of Indian Textiles. These museums represent Sanskrit’s commitment to preserve and nurture the creative vitality of Indian art and culture. The three museums have a total collection of 4000 artifacts and objects shared between both display and reserve.
Pushpa Devi, a traditional Madhubani artist will conduct the workshop where one will get a chance to explore different aspects of a Madhubani painting and learn the age-old indigenous painting style.
Novice/Beginners are encouraged to register for the workshop and learn this magnificent art form.
Anyone above 12 years of age is welcomed to attend the workshop.
