On the night of 13th and 14th December 2018 we will witness a spectacular phenomenon of the Geminids meteor shower. Looking at a Shooting star (which we commonly call them) in a star-studded sky excites everyone. Now imagine about 60-80 of them visible in just one hour (during peak) or counting to 500 by entire night. The Geminids meteor (famous for its bright colorful fireballs) is one of the most reliable meteor showers visible from earth.
The Geminids meteor shower astrophotography workshop not only provides you an opportunity to witness this beautiful phenomenon but also enable you to capture it in form of beautiful images. It is a two-night workshop held at our Observatory located in a beautiful hill station Kausani in the Himalayas. Along with the beautiful scenery of wide panoramic Himalayas, the skies are majestic and dark.
This workshop is a blend of practical session and lectures on astrophotography. It develops conceptual clarity of basics of night sky photography with loads of practical hands of experience. The number of participants has been limited which ensures the quality of the workshop and everyone will get ample time at all the stations to use every setup individually.
Stargate Observatory is India's first private observatory located in the peaceful hill station of Kausani, away from the city lights located in Bageshwar district, Uttarakhand. It is famous for its scenic splendor, majestic sky and it’s spectacular-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli.
Astrophotography workshop at Stargate Observatory is a hands-on practical learning experience of astrophotography. Learn different types of astrophotography like star trails photography, nightscapes, Milkyway, deep sky objects photography of distant galaxies, nebulas and star cluster with Stargate observatory. This workshop is a blend of practical sessions and lectures on techniques of astrophotography, developing the conceptual clarity of basics of night sky photography with loads of practical hands-on experience.
