About the play:
Before reaching its final destination life takes tons of wished for and unwanted turns. Some deliberately choose the tough path, while some are compelled by life to walk on rough patches. Apoorva is the perfect mixture of both these kind of people. While most believe in routine, Apoorva’s life is a set of regimen smashing affairs.
The story of voicemail revolves around the life and aspirations of Apoorva. A character who is hungry to bring a difference to each day, escaping monotony in his unique ways. While a certain Sunday afternoon is dedicated to composing poems, the weekend next is occupied with paint on a canvas. While his poems can be heard on the radio a certain month, some others stay part of his personal treasury. Finding his way through, he finds himself stuck in the maze of a corporate job midway.
One fine day when Apoorva is offered to write a film he quits it all and moves to Delhi. The city throws in his path characters for his film walking on the streets of Delhi, sipping coffee at a local cafe or stuck in a maze like he was.
An attempt to find a home to live in brings him across Sanya. Each floor of the house inhabits a distinct story. Stories that Apoorva lives through his pen. Stories that get etched in his memory forever. Stories that give him a new tale of life.
Amidst the several ups and downs that Apoorva faces, amidst the turns that life takes, does he succeed in writing his film or is life waiting at the corner with a story of its own? A story through a voicemail. A voicemail that becomes synonymous to the essential and inessential tidbits of Apoorva’s life.
