Join us for a storytelling walk though the mythological city of Pushkar with your Hosts Sundeep Verma & Ruchi. Discover the legend of Brahma & various mythologies associated with him. Understand the stories behind ghats and cultural history of Pushkar.

Itinerary: 15th Sept, Saturday, 2018.
 
1. Reach Pushkar via Bus, Train or Car.
2. You can book a luxurious hotel or a backpackers hostel using various booking sites/apps.
3. Join us at the Ghat for the commencement of the walk.
4. There are two walk slots. You can join at 9:00 AM or 3 PM. Please make sure to book a slot using the ticket link.
5. Get immersed into the fascinating tales of Brahma and Pushkar. Write poetry, prose, sketch, photography or shoot a mini-film.
6. Join us for a tea/snacks for discussion and Q&A.
 
Post Walk:
7. You can visit the Brahma Temple, the only prominent temple of Brahma in the world.
8. Take a peaceful stroll on ghats under the moonlight after dinner.
9. Go for a camel safari or a food trail around Pushkar market.

About Your Hosts: 

Sundeep & Ruchi invented 'Art of Seeing' Walks around India covering various Art Galleries & Museums to generate more interest in art for people. Besides that Sundeep Verma conducts various workshops, talks and lectures on the Art of Storytelling. He has worked in advertising for 17 years. He did his Masters in Storytelling from Central Saint Martins, London, UK. 

Ruchi is an accomplished artist. She has done solo shows around India and Europe. She is also a counselling psychologist. She conducts workshops on Art Therapy. Ruchi did her Masters from Nottingham Trent University, UK. 

 About Pushkar:

1. International Business Times has identified Pushkar as one of the ten most religious places in the world and one of the five sacred pilgrimage places for the Hindus, in India. It is one of the Panch-Sarovar of Hindu Theology and the most holiest pilgrimage site of Hinduism.

2. The Hindu scriptures describe it as "Tirtha-Raj" – the king of pilgrimage sites and relate it to the mythology of the creator-god Brahma, whose only prominent temple stands in Pushkar.

3. Ramayana and Mahabharata refer to Pushkar Lake as Adi Tirtha, or the "original sacred water-body".

4. It is dated back to 4th Century BC.

5. The 10th Sikh guru, Guru Govind Singh (1666–1708), is said to have recited the Sikh sacred text Guru Granth Sahib on the banks of the lake.

6. During Mugal Rule, Emperor Akbar revived the lake for pilgrimage.

7. Pushkar is considered one of the most sacred places in India.
