Mangalorean cuisine is much more than the usual menu items at restaurants. I will introduce people to some of the Mangalorean fare we indulge in at home. It’ll be a fun afternoon, talking about Mangalore and its culture, and of course, tasting the menu I would present.
Mangalorean cuisine is well known for its distinct flavor. In general, the Mangalorean recipes are quite spicy and fresh coconut is an integral part of these recipes and Rice is a staple food for Mangaloreans.

India is known for its regional biryani variants, and Mangalore has its own! Hasiru means green and koli is chicken in Tulu, this green chicken biryani is also known as Donne Biryani on the streets of Mangalore.
Hapla Kismoori
A nice salad type accompaniment with the biryani, this is made with fried chilli papads known as hapolu, with coconut, onions and green chilly.
