Karwar is a seaside city on the west coast of the Indian peninsula. It is situated between Sahyadri ever green forest in east, the blue Arabian Sea to the west, a harbour in the south and the beautiful Kali river to the North .
The Bengali poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who visited Karwar in 1882, dedicated a chapter of his memoirs to this town and named Karwar the "Kashmir of Karnataka"
Itinerary :-
27th Apr - 9 pm - Leave for Karwar
28th Apr :-
7.00 am - Arrive at karwar
8.00 am - Breakfast at Karwar
9.00 am - Take a boat trip to Elephant island,Turtle island and enjoy watching Dolphins swim around.
1.00 pm- Relax at the beach after Lunch
4.00 pm - Sunset trek to the top of a peak nearby. It is a moderate trek, the distance is 7km's from base to the top.We will reach the top to be greeted with a beautiful sunset and a panoramic view of Karwar and the Arabian sea.
7.00 pm - Descend to a small settlement 2 kms below the peak.
7.15 pm - Tea snacks
8.30 pm - Dinner
9.30 pm - Stargaze. Experience the beauty of the night sky as we take you on a tour of the heavens. We have 2 binoculars which will be used during the stargazing session.
29th Apr :-
6.00 am - Wake up
6.30 am - Tea
7.30 am - Breakfast
8.30 am - Descend down to base of the trek, take cab and head out to visit the Sadashivgad Fort, Aquarium , INS Chapal Museum and Rabindranath Tagore Beach.
12.00 pm - Leave for Bangalore, with a rest stop for lunch ( not included)
8.00 pm - Reach Bangalore.
Things to carry :-
1. Trek/ sports shoes
2. Head torch/ Torch
3. Suncap
4. Mosquito repellant
5. Water bottles
6. Rain coat
7. Toiletries
8. 3 sets of clothing, including one for the beach
9. A light fleece/sweater in case you feel cold.
10. Sunglasses.
Price of the experience, inclusive of Transport+Village stay + 2 breakfast's, 1 lunch and 1 dinner + permits for all activities :
2800/- (excluding transport from Bangalore-Karwar -Bangalore)
4500/- (including transport from Bangalore-Karwar-Bangalore)
Note :-
1. Alcohol and Smoking during the entire trip is not allowed. Think of it as a two day detox!
2. This will be a village stay where we get to experience local food and culture,please do not expect luxuries on this trip
3. Max 11 people.
