Run #590
the Bombay Hash is the local chapter of the global phenomenon called the Hash House Harriers which now has more than 1,700 chapters and spans all seven continents. Yes you heard right. All seven! They even have one on Antarctica. Who would have thought that running and a few beers after would be such a great combination.
a typical hash run consists of a short trail (6-9 km) through the countryside or the bylanes of the city. you can choose to run or walk. we have marathoners as well as 80 year olds who do the trails. the run is followed with getting together at the venue for a few beers and conversation. once we’ve managed to gather up everyone we have a longstanding hash tradition called “the circle”. we don’t even know where to begin to describe it so it’s best experienced first hand.
we usually run twice a month - an evening run on the second sunday of the month which is normally in the city and a morning run on the last sunday of the month out in the wilderness.
if you’re new and you’re interested in attending any of the runs just shoot us an email at bombayhash@gmail.com and we’d be happy to make your life miserable. but make sure you’re stocked up on a sense of humour and a healthy dose of adventure.
all you other old farts know the drill.
