Nomura said the same thing to expats.  this rule was put into play when the changes came about in the  business visa at  the end of last year, I think. The cap is that only or upto 1% of personnel in an Indian company can be foreign nationality 

Which City are you in?

We - a bunch of friends and I - are working with a couple of charitable groups , and i kow what you mean about them being a little wary. We got those "looks" as well, initially - like we were a bunch of silly bored housewives who were doing this for a lark!.

What can I say  - we just persevered and now are definitely part of the teams.

So - if you really want o make a diff. just show them. ALl the NGOs are terribly short-staffed and need as many volunteers as they can get - so long as you show committment.   - G'luck

Hey Anne  dunno if you alread y know about this - but even if you start working as a private tutor - you can make a very good salary. And if your subjects are senior school subjects - even better.

completely  understand that..well my time in jaipur is coming to an end so not in to job anymore..got used to this city and its ways,..

waiting to be out of here..maybe we are a bunch of crazy people but most expat i know working in jaipur crib about this city..its a place to see not to stay...

however experience might be different for different ppl n i leave it to those who wanna get their share of the pie
