Mentor:
Dr. Phil. Maja Jerrentrup (Jamari Lior)Having a vision in the combination of theory and practice of the photography Maja has studied in Germany, the Netherlands and India. An awarded student and lecturer at Universities and academies Maja has exhibited her pictures in various countries, has published several books and DVDs about photography and works as a chief editor of an international journal on photography as well as an editor of a practical photography magazine. Further, she is a Nikon ambassador and featured in the latest Nikon spot.
Maja is an integral part of the Indian Institute of Photography and exchanging a fruitful relation between faculty and students, sharing her educational and practical experiences with the students of IIP.
Be it pictures of models or ethnographic photography - her visual work is always grounded on an anthropological base. She debunks trends in contemporary photography as deeply rooted in classical topoi by showing their historical and cultural origins.
